Homemade Virginia Baked Ham
(This ham is sliced and tied)

 

Place ham on counter for 1 hour before heating.

 

Preheat oven to 275°F.

 

Cover roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil.  Poke holes into each corner of the foil.

 

Place ham into oven.

 

For a Ham weighing 3 to 5 lbs. – Heat for approximately 1.5 - 2 hours

 

For a ham weighing approximately 6-8 lbs – heat for approximately 2.5  - 3 hours.

If you choose to baste your ham, your cooking time may increase slightly due to the drop in oven temperature.

Allow ham to rest for 10 - 15 minutes before cutting the strings.
